I’ve found my self gravitating away from modern television for a while now. I fell into the Netflix thing, and got a dash of Prime Video every now and then. I even indulge in a little Crunchyroll every now and then (yes, that’s an anime streaming service), but as of late, I’ve found myself feeling kind of… drowning in a sea of titles. Mostly titles I’m not interested in. I could always re-watch Sherlock (with Benedict Cumberbatch) or Californication, or maybe a further re-watch of Frasier. None of those really strike my fancy right now.
So, as a result, I’ve found myself drifting toward Twitch for entertainment. Now, mind you, I’ve been a gamer my whole life, so it may be a bit of a bias that I enjoy Twitch as much as I do, but it’s been pretty cool. I’m sure most of you know what Twitch is, but if you don’t, it’s a streaming service where people — yes, at home — play games and show their gameplay to world, live. I have a friend who streams, so I watch his stuff first, but I have a few others I enjoy, as well. Streamers like Bahjeera, and CouRageJD both pique my interest and keep me entertained.
The good thing about it, too, is that it keeps you entertained while giving you people to talk to. Sure, many of them are trolls, and the more famous the streamer, the less likely you’ll be sharing much conversation (because of how busy the chat is.)
If you haven’t, you should go check out Twitch and watch some of the games. Some of them are even old school, and some are real life. It can get pretty interesting.
